Hi, I'm Izzy

Designer.
Front-end Developer.
Food Photographer.
Business Owner.

Four job titles, one skill: understand the problem before someone pays to solve the wrong one.

The design. Fifteen years of it. The work I'm proudest of is Total Expert, where I redesigned the platform experience for a fintech CRM used by eight of the fifteen largest lenders in the U.S., and designed its first marketing automation tool inside mortgage compliance constraints. The platform served 126 user roles, all needing something different from the same screen. The design system I built is still in production seven years later. I've kept a freelance design practice running alongside everything since, most recently web work for Plaudit and print design for PatientX.

The code. I started as a designer at an agency where coding the emails was part of the job, which is how I found out I liked the code part. Then I spent a few years at Outsell as a straight front-end developer, building responsive pages for 25+ brands, until I missed designing enough to add it back to the job. Which means when I hand work to engineering, I know what I'm asking for and roughly what it costs them.

The business. I ran a commercial food photography studio for seven years, growing it 25 to 40% a year and working with CPG brands, women-run businesses, and B Corps. Alongside it I managed the operations for an art business that doubled revenue four years running, where I set the pricing, calculated the margin, and watched customers decide right in front of me.

Off the clock, I'm a maker too: pottery, baking, painting, knitting, and woodworking that is improving faster than it is impressive. Candlesticks are next, mostly so I can finish the rhyme.

Product design is where all of that overlaps. That's where I want to be.
